OTOP in Region 12 continues
to generate jobs, investments and sales in 2008

P651 M Investments and 3,745 jobs generated
The value of investments generated in the OTOP projects in 2008 reached P651 Million. This is 132% better than the P492 Million target set by DTI 12 for itself, this year.
Among the major sectors in which millions of fresh funds were poured were in processing equipment for mangosteen, fish processing, fruits and vegetables, banana plantation expansion, palm oil expansion, rubber plantation expansion and fish processing.

Koronadal City – The quality management system of the Department of Trade and Industry – Region 12 was recommended for certification to ISO 9001:2000 standards.
“The Certification to ISO 9001:2000 Standards is a process whereby a third party certifying body would conduct assessment and certification audits as to conformance to standards. In particular, the evaluation would involve determination of level of compliance to Philippine National Standards (PNS) on ISO 9001:2000,” according to Regional Director Ibrahim Guiamadel. |

Dillera The Department of Trade & Industry 12 updated the local media and the hotel and restaurant owners in Tacurong City on the developments of the priority industries in Region 12. DTI-12 Director Ibrahim K. Guiamadel said, the purpose of this activity is to encourage the media to help promote the region’s priority industries such as banana; mango; muscovado; coffee; craft; tourism; information, communication and technology (ICT) ; and fishery.
