The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is leading the bureaucracy to realign budgets to spur livelihood and job-generating projects in the country as the lingering global crisis continues to displace workers from their jobs.

DTI Secretary Peter B. Favila has mobilized all DTI bureaus and attached agencies to embark on massive livelihood programs for Filipinos to be affected by the financial crunch.
To finance the thrust, the DTI is bent on tapping the P100-M Industrial Guarantee and Loans Fund (IGLF) of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). Favila already met with officials of Small Business Corp. (SB Corp.) and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) to bankroll start-up projects of would-be entrepreneurs that would avail of the livelihood programs to be promoted by DTI.
